What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda, often called the “Mother of all Medicine”, is the ancient, time-tested Indian art of physical, mental, and emotional healing. Based on balances innate and unique to each individual, Ayurveda works at the deepest levels of life.

Literally translated as “the science of life”, Ayurveda uses the language of Nature to describe the intricacies of health and disease. Treatments, including herbs, foods, lifestyle changes, massage, yoga, and other natural processes, work to restore your body to its innate, healthy balance.

Many who come for Ayurvedic advice, find it an excellent complement to traditional Western medical treatment. This is especially true at Alandi where our practitioner, Alakananda Ma, is a graduate of a top London medical school as well as an Ayurvedic Doctor. This is a tremendous boon not only to the average person, but also to anyone with any serious medical disorders. Ma will work as closely as possible with your MD and your other health personnel.

Cancellation Policy for Alandi Ayurveda Clinic

A charge will be made for all broken appointments unless a 24-hour business day notice is given. Notice cannot be given on holidays and weekends. We understand that there are times when you must miss an appointment due to an emergency such as illness, blizzard or car problems. There will be no charge for these excused absences if a conscious effort is made to contact us as soon as you realize you need to miss your appointment. Otherwise, if an appointment is not cancelled with a full business day's notice, a charge of 50% of the cost of the appointment will be applied to your account.
