When I was a baby,
Tiny and frail,
You were a mighty mountain
My protector.
When I was a child,
Eager and inquisitive,
You were my Daddy
Who answered every question.
When I was a blossoming girl,
Bright eyes, shiny red hair,
You were the father
Who took me proudly
On your arm.
When I was a passionate seeker
Traveling the world
You were the wise greybeard
Who listened to my tales.
At the last it was you
Who were weak and frail
And I was your protector
Giving you safe passage
To another world.
